Silent Sky
Synopsis
Silent Sky tells the true story of Henrietta Leavitt, who joined the Harvard Observatory's all-women team of "computers" in 1900, cataloging stars on glass photographic plates while barred from the telescope itself.
Her discovery of how to measure distance across space would let astronomers chart the true scale of the universe, even as the men around her took the credit and the world questioned a woman's place in science. It is a play about ambition, family, faith, and the quiet persistence it takes to change how humanity sees the sky.
Henrietta is brilliant, impatient, and unwilling to shrink, a scientist who feels the cosmos as deeply as she measures it. Playing her meant holding wonder and frustration in the same breath.

Naya's character Henrietta wanting to see what's out there. To have that legacy. We're all Henrietta, in a way.
Seeing Henrietta's version of Heaven was as much theater bliss and catharsis I've ever had. There's a light cue that happens, and I couldn't even look up anymore. A collapsing moment.
What I loved about Henrietta was that there was so much about her that was YOU. Your zest for life, your joy. Your determination. You understand stakes so well… I want Naya González steering the ship. Beautiful stuff.
